I serve the community working as an Executive Officer in the Hong Kong SAR Government. Executive Officers are a closely-knit group and have a good network in the Government. It has a staff association, the Government Executive Grade Association (GEGA), and also an informal discussion network, the eo_net, comprising members of serving and retired executive officers.
我在香港特別行政區政府擔任行政主任的工作以服務社會。 行政主任是一個緊密聯繫的群體,在政府內部擁有良好的網絡。它有一個員工組織:香港特別行政區政府行政主任協會, 和一個有現任和退休行政主任參與的非正式論壇: eo_net.

The Executive Officer grade is a very large civil service grade, comprising over 2,000 staff. The management of such a large group of employees requires complex management policies, strategies and skills. Furthermore, human resource management is a core duty of executive officers and is performed by them in all government departments. As such, the management of the grade resources, in particular the career management of staff, is a critical task which must be performed in an excellent manner, and be seen as so. This peculiar situation makes the management of the Executive Officer grade a very good topic of research in the management field. In this respect, I have written two papers on the subject. They are linked below for those who are interested. Comments are welcome.

Management of the Executive Grade -    This paper researched on the history, current environment, and the competitive environment of the Executive Officer grade, and the career development of its staff. In particular, I proposed a method for the grade management to develop its staff to professional managers.

Posting of Executive Officers for Career Development -    Posting is an essential event in the career of an officer. Executive officers are posted to different jobs throughout their career. This paper researched on the effect of posting to the career development of executive officers. It was based on a survey of about 1,100 postings within a period of about two years.
